Por la víspera de Navidad, y no había fuego en el hogar.
Los calcetines eran negros, así como del color de un ratón.
El cielo nublado, al cometa bloqueaba,
Al Obispo de Mira no se lo esperaba.

No había dulces sobre la cama,
Tampoco chocolates, ni la pañoleta de una dama.
Con la mente en alboroto, y sin gorro de pijama,
No quedaba más que terminar aquel programa.

De pronto medio cerca, brotó una jarana,
Salté de la silla y miré por la ventana,
De un lado al otro, lo que se podía de la manzana.
Solo sirenas sonaban, igual que la anterior semana.

El cielo nublado, que al cometa ocultaba,
También a la luna la velaba.
No había hojas en los árboles,
No había nieve que caía.
El Obispo de Mira no llegaría.
